Having Trouble with connecting to network! I just moved onto a college campus and downloaded Limewire to download music. I have read through the threads and followed the advice that has been given to people with similar connection issues. So far I have........ installed the proxy Socks V5 tried to reconfigure firewalls |
I am really confused on what the problem may be. If you have any words of advice please please help me. I am desperate to connect given that I don't have the cd allowance I used to :) |
You school is probally blocking p2p networks |
is there any way around it? |
check the last link in my signature. we're working on using a proxy service called Tor to bypass corporate/college firewalls. |
I downloaded tor and the privoxy then followed the directions and still nothing worked. I am not getting errors from limewire itself anymore but I am not able to connect either. Does it matter what Tor you download? |
you need a specific type for your operating system (Mac users use Tor for Mac, Windows use Windows, etc.) |
I did specify the operating system. I use windows but there are two different dowloads after the word windows. Do I need to download both? |
i picked the first one. im having problems running limewire through tor. i did it earlier. it appears the tor people's routers are blocking 6346/tcp from connecting to limewire :( ive spent about 20 minutes to attempt to bypass it.. limewire worked for about 10 minutes on Tor earlier. |
I haven't had any success yet. This is way harder than it needs to be. Does anybody else have any ideas to what I could do? I would really like this to work! Thanks! |
