Im at COLLEGE so am i screwed?
 
Im stuck here at college. So does that mean I cannot use limewire. It connects, and then I download at like 1k, then it just stops. I run Windows XP, and well its a new laptop. I really wish i could download so being here wouldnt be so boring. Help please

You may be being filtered where did you get you version of LW from did you DL it from P2P net.

dont worry.. we're attempting to get tor to bypass college firewalls for peer to peer traffic, however our problem is that the tor servers are blocking outbound 6346/tcp connections :(

I got my limewire from www.Limewire.com

its weird that i can download for a short period of time, and it goes really slow.

any suggestions. Its hellaboring over here.=)

You can try the preference folder fix in the link below but if you got your version from the official site I drought that is the problem. The odds are you are filtered.

you do know that you can change ports right?

i haven't yet figured out a setting yet to work 100% yet. the problem is to get tor setup, you need access to your router. most of these people don't have access, they're at college, or at work. so i gotta find a way to get a port open by default on a firewall.

then i have to make sure the same port is open on a tor's hosts firewall too. its becoming a slow pain in the ***. it worked once when a tor host didnt have a firewall or had the gnutella port open. however, in the tor console window, i noticed a majority of hosts did block 6346/tcp.
