No Search Results!

When using Limewire on my Mac OSX, I can connect to Limewire fine and dandy, but when i search for something....NO search results EVER come up! I am wondering if this is because of the firewall settings at the university I am attending....or my computer settings....SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT

no results

same here mate. i'm on osx. was working fine then just stopped. Could used as a teaser to get you to upgrade to limewire pro for access to the technical support. What do you reckon. No one will give you any answers by the way.

Well their problem sounds obvious. Most universities either block or filter p2p sharing nowadays. eg: Here's an example of how a p2p bandwidth shaper can work (this example is from a university): Bandwidth Shaper Sample - typical of how some ISP's also use it (click on link) ie: giving priority to net surfing & low priorities to p2p sharing.

BTW I neither have a G5 or Tiger so I'm not qualified to answer new issues with Tiger. And this is a forum, we don't care what you do, use LW or not but try to help. We are volunteers & this site is not run or owned by Limewire.org. This forum caters for many gnutella programs.

im not at uni and i've got same problem. I have a seperate thread on same subject look here for possible answers. Not a bandwidth problem. search is still just as quick, just provides no results!!!

No your problem sounds different. Universities have lots of barriers to using p2p nowadays. Be they firewalls, blocking ports, filtering bandwidth or blocking particular programs. There's programs out there that some ISP's also use that can detect p2p programs & can either block them or shape their bandwidth use.

I really wanna get downloading some stuff
do you recommend any other P2P software?

What did you do to fix the 'no search result' problem?
