Not that you can do anything about it but who do you get your internt service from.

Need to read their rules of use. They will have an online rules page somewhere. That's where they may state whether they state they are against p2p use (& will probably deliberately block or filter p2p.) Some isp's are very strict about it & may cancel your service if it's against their rules. Knowing who your isp is would help to find out one way or the other. The other option is using proxies but you still risk getting caught/detected by them eventually. Some isp's only set up for surfing not for heavy bandwidth use such as gaming or p2p sharing, etc.

As I suggested there's always the proxy method, but it's still risky. What's more it's not easy to find a proxy that works. You may need to try many many proxies before you find one that works with LW. See A Fix for those whose ISP's block Limewire pages 1 - 3 which have links to alternative instructions. There's different types of proxies.

http://www.udata.com/agrement.htm points 3, 6 & 23 of the isp rules are or could be relevant to p2p sharing.

So you think i can still connect if i change ports and proxies?

Grandpa September 20th, 2005 09:05 PM

Some times you just have to laugh lord :D :D

You can try, but they may still detect the bandwidth use eventually. Probably not immediately. It's up to you. It's a risk! Yes changing ports or/& using a proxy would probably be the best way.
