Constantly Being Disconnected

Hi

I think this has been discussed several time already but I'm bringing it up again because I think its getting worse.

I'm using LW Pro 4.9.30 and I find that I am constantly being disconnected from the Internet. I connect through BT Internet using broadband and until I upgraded to the current version of LW I never had this irriating problem. In fact it has taken me nearly 15 minutes to get connected this morning just to post this message.

Moan now over, anyone any ideas on why this is happening and what I can do about it.

Thanks

George

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?

Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

Connection Difficulties

Lord of The Rings

The answers are:

1. OS - Windows XP Home Edition with SP2
2. No firewalls other than that installed with Windows
3. 124GB hard disk space
4. 500 MB RAM
5. Connection is Broadband
6. Modem/Router is BT Voyager 205 ADSL
7. Connecting from home
8. Version is LW Pro 4.9.30
9. ISP provider is BTInternet
10. Not sharing
11. Bug Report - False

As I don't have a firewall other than above, I haven't configured anything.

Hope this help.

George
