How do I direct a friend to my ISP?

I want to use Limewire to transfer large files back and forth
Now that we both have it- how do we find each other?
and how do we direct each other to the correct directory?

to use direct connect, see the instructions Lord of the Rings posted here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=30911

I am wondering if dhary wants these files to be accessible to anybody on the gnutella network .... which using Limewire they will be. Phex had a feature for setting up private networks, not quite sure how it works, but that might be something worth looking into, or there is ftp (never understood that either) I just wondered if Limewire is the best thing for doing what dhary wants to do:confused:

Direct connect or Magnet Links will both achieve the same thing. I would argue that magnet links are probably a little easier than direct connecting. And since this person is a LW user & looking for LW solutions in the LW forums I think that's probably the best direction for them. How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect

Hmm It looks like Magnet Link is just the ticket. I had always thought it was something to do with Magnetmix, which goes to show I should always RTFM!:D
