Limewire NOT WORKING

It KEEPS freezing on me - sometimes when the "Loading User Interface" window comes up, sometimes when the "Get Limewire PRO" box comes up.

I've done EVERYTHING suggested: I downgraded to Java version 1.4.2; I deleted the ".limewire" folder (and YES, Limewire was COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN); I reinstalled Limewire (4.9); and I've scanned my system for viruses and rid myself of any.

I don't have any firewalls installed.

I am a new user to Limewire; I just installed it, for the first time, today. It was working perfectly. I tried to get on tonight and it's been acting up since.

WHAT IS THE DAMN PROBLEM??? I'm on an ancient pad, Win 98, and I'm connected via cable, if any of that helps. . . .

Actually, I had to upgrade java to 1.5 to stop my freezing problem. The only other thing I could think of is a resource problem (not enough RAM or CPU).

mmm RAM is not the problem, the problem tend to point at Page File cuz it look like a RAM problem but it a the page file. it very simple. Right-click my computer, then click properties. Click on Advanced tab, then in Performance box, click on setting. It will bring up the Performance setting box. click on Advanced tab, then click Change. next to "Custom Size", increase the number like 500 then increase the maximum to 1000. then click apply then restart your Limewire
