Connection drops one bar all the time Limewire connects but then it drops the last green bar, leaving me with one red so it doesnt come up with any search results. Also my downloads do not download even when it is connected. Ocasionally they go fast but then they magically slow to 1kb/s or stop completely. It used to work really well but the past few weeks it has really slowed down. i checked out almost all of the other postings and dont see any one else with this problem. any ideas? my system is a laptop w/ p4 2.0ghz, 512ram, 16 igs free ram on internal, 175gigs free on external, running xp home, running on university T1 connection. |
Dude. I have EXACTLY the same problem. I don't know WHAT'S going on. Maybe it's computer error epidemic or something... |
i disabled ultrapeer and it seemed to fix that problem but then it made my external HD go nuts. it like renamed the drive from F to E and disk errored all of my downloads. Limewire has some serious issues |
Re: Hello everyone, I am having the same problem, mine starts out find and then continues to drop bars until only the smallest bar stays green and my downloads go down with it until 1kb or stop also. Anyone find out anything yet??????????This is madness. |
jakedolan try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 in Fixes for Limewire (sample at bottom of page.) BTW you're lucky to be able to downld at university. Many filter or block p2p sharing nowadays. Here's an example of how a p2p bandwidth shaper can work: Bandwidth Shaper Sample - typical of how some ISP's/schools use it (click on link) ie: giving priority to net surfing & low priorities to p2p sharing. The one to look for is Gnutella. jakedolan: Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) BTW don't use the resume/find sources function on all your files. This WILL have that effect. Too many people abuse this function without realising it is using up all your computer's & all your bandwidth's resources. Imagine what effect it has on the gnutella network. |
I have a version later than 4.4 so how do i deal with that problem? now it often doesnt even connect |
