Firewall problem
 

Hello there,
I hv latest limewire (basic)
I dont hv any problem in downloading at all but when i click direct connect tab it says "your comp is behind a firewall or router and it cannot receive direct connections". Its confusing cuz when i move my mouse pointer to the "icon with picture of globe" the mesege is displayed "Limewire has not detected a firewall".
I hv selected the recommended options abt firewall.
How can i receive direct connections?
other info:
1. win 98 second edition
2. no firewall as such but norton antivirus unreg. version with "auto-protect" enabled. (which i suspect to be culprit)
3. plenty of ram and harddisk.
4. connecting type cable and operating from home.
5. ISP- Globecast
Connection not shared by other p2p.
Please reply.

What type of modem/router do you use? ie: What brand & model number?

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

I wouldn't have though norton av would have any effect, but make sure LW is permitted to connect to the net if there's any such option. Have a closer look at the preferences & options of norton.
