Limewire Won't Go Away!

Hi, hopefully this is in the right section and hopefully this question hasn't been answered before.

For the last two weeks, I have been close Limewire because it would open on start up. Within a minute later, it would open again, so I would close it. Same thing again, it would keep opening while I would continue to close it.

As it wont go away, I have to just leave it open, thus making my computer very slow. I have Limewire 4.9.23, if this is any help.

No replies from last thread, so hopefully someone is kind enough to help me out this time!

Thanks

Victor

I am having the exact same problem. It is really ticking me off. I hope someone helps solve this problem, because i keep getting mad and just uninstallin limewire. Then I end up re-installing it... and the same thing happens. Also, it quits unexpectedly, and loads again. This happens recently only once but it is still annoying... Please help!

There's a couple of options. Hopefully it's the 1st option. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Shutdown/Tray & see which option is selected. If shutdown after transfers is ticked then that's why.

Otherwise see: 1. WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!, & also 2. LimeWire continually Popping up every few seconds & also Opening at System Startup

3. LimeWire popping up - how to eradicate it

In future beware of files less than 1 MB in size. Obviously no normal audio & video files are going to be less than 1 MB in size. Don't get confused between MB & KB.

5up3rm4n check your settings in LW. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>System Startup & make sure the option is not checked. If not, then see the advice above.

I had the same viral problem as well. I know how frustrating it is but I got it fixed by going to http://www.geekstogo.com/forum

Ok, if that doesnt work...

Alright, these options didnt work for me. However, i had my uncle come over and help me remove the virus. We uninstalled LW and ran the computer in "safe mode". Then my virus removal program got rid of it permenantly(it seems). Try removing in safe mode.
