Limewire eriticated my wireless connection. I have been running limewire for months with no problems, however when I tried to run it, and it totally froze my system, so I manually reset it. When I got back on my computer, my wireless connection program no longer runs at all, and I can no longer get on the internet, or even create a new wireless connection through my USB wireless adapter. I have tried re-opening Limewirre in the meantime, in hopes that it would reconnect me to my wireless or something, but it doesn't load at all still. I am going to try to delete my LW Preferences folder as posted in other threads. Windows XP SP2 USB Wireless Card - 802.11b+g USB Wireless LAN Adapter (no longer showing in network connections) 802.11b+g USB Wireless LAN Utility will no longer run on startup, or manually (what gives me the connection) Limewire 4.9.29 Java 1.5 I have tried reinstalling driver, unplugging, re-plugging usb adapter, and trying to set up a wireless interface manually. Nothing works. |
Just an update... I tried removing .limewire (preferences), and limewire still freezes. I also tried a system restore, and my internet to my surprise still did not return to normal. I also have just tried a repair of windows, and that didn't even bring it back... seriously... what is going on? |
My roomate has the same problem. He has a wireless D-link card installed in his computer. Everything was working fine. He got a good signal strength (of course, he's 10 feet away from the wireless router) then he installed Limewire, & now his connection says "very low signal". He can't connect at all. Whats going on? Compaq Win xp service pack 2 512 dram 130 g hd 40 gigs used/90 free onboard graphics card. |
