Able to connect only at night

I've been using Limewire for quite sometime without any trouble, but of late I'm unable to Connect to the network to the network at all during the day, it won't connect beyond the first green bar,I only get fully connected to the network after 7 or 8pm  I had to download the installer for the latest version at night as it repeatly failed during the day.

XP Pro, Zone Alarm, 256 RAM, 50 GB disk space available Dial up,
Connected from home

I've tried this test when fully connected to the network : http://www3.limewire.com:6346 and got this error message :The page cannot be displayed.

My net speed is 48kbps and I get a download speed of 6kb when fully connected to the network .. is this all I should expect :D :D :D
Could you please recommend any other Spyware free P2P Programs

Any suggestions ?

Thanks Hobo for the info about the KBps part, but I didn't have any problems getting connected during the day, till about a month ago and now everthing's changed .

What about that test at http://www.3.limewire.com:6346/ ..Why is the test failing ?

With regard to Broadband , there's just ONE Provider where I'm located and I do have some issues with them, and I'm not the only one.

Opps sorry I make a mistake too, I don't get the test failed error at http://www.3.limewire.com:3646/ just the conventional error when a site won't open "The page cannot be displayed" .Yes I'm able to log onto www.limewire.com with ease.

Just as an experiment, try changing your LW port during the daytime to see if that makes a difference to connecting. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port from 6346 to one of the following: 1111, 3500, 4008, 1203, 10000, 15189, 80, 22817, 443, 34599, 40475, 64049

You'd need to press apply after making the change. Then go to LW's menu bar, File>Connect. Give it at least 15 -30 mins to try to connect. Try each of the ports suggested. ;)

It may well be a local traffic issue but let's see if there's some kind of port blocking happening during normal office hours.

Thanks Lord, your experiment seems to have worked, I changed the listening port to 64049 and LM gets fully connected with a minute :) Hope it continues to do so:D :D :D

Praise the Lord, ;) ;) Lord of the Rings.

Hmm I wonder if your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is filtering (blocking port 6346) the gnutella network during times when businesses are needing the most bandwidth. Some ISP's struggle to maintain bandwidth during peak times. And businesses/companies pay big money for their internet requirements. That may explain the situation & since port 6346 is the official default port for Gnutella.
