WTF?! Please Help! About 2 weeks ago, Limewire has stopped working. Whenever I click on Limewire (version 4.10) a message comes up saying "LimeWire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall program blocking LimeWire's access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow LimeWire to access the internet and restart LimeWire." I'm using Windows Firewall and Limewire IS on the exceptions list and it still doesn't work. I also tried shutting off my firewall and it still doesn't work. And I have no clue what "loopback connections" are. Also another program I use, called SoulSeek, no longer works. It says "Could not connect to server. If your internet connection is up, the server might be temporarily down." My internet connection IS up and I know for a fact the server is also up because my friend is using it and on their site it says all servers are up. Also, I highly doubt my isp all of a sudden blocked all P2P programs because my friends with the same isp is able to download from LimeWire. Another thing I have to mention, is I uninstalled Java awhile ago because I wasn't using LimeWire for awhile and wanted more disk space. It took me forever to be able to reinstall Java (had to download offline for some reason because it said internet connection wouldn't allow it to download online ) but Java is now installed again. So does ANYONE have a clue as to how I can fix this problem? It's just very random because it all of a sudden stopped working one day and I have no idea why Please Help!! Thank you!!! |
