will not complete loading!!!
 

Hey, been reading all that I can so that I don't repeat anything, but some problems I have read and tried to fix. Here's the deal...I downloaded version 4.10.5 and went through the installing process. Double clicked the desktop icon and it showes the lime and all, loading user interface goes on the bottem and then it just disappears? I have downloaded the new Java, I have deleted all the folders, I have un-installed it and re-installed it many times. When I delete the .limewire folder and the limewire hidden folder it will load to where the icon comes at the bottem left near the clock and more words are displayed on the bottem bar then LW comes up. It asks me "why go pro? go later, upgrade now" and I can read that for maybe 1 full second then it all shuts down again. Again that only comes up when I delete the folders. PLEASE let me know what I am doing wrong! ALSO, when I delete the folders and try to run it, I have to go through all the "english, start on start up, search other folders for media files" that type deal! anyone?

You seem to have done the obvious things. All I can suggest is that you uninstall again & make sure you take the "offline" installers. See here:

(It is an official version of LW? Not a scam one?)
If this all fails again, maybe try the new Beta (link in thread).
All the info from your options will go when you delete your preferences folder. That's what your preferences are. PITA, I know, but you'll just have to re-enter all that info.

Birdy...I did that, and still nothing, LW probably stayed maybe a total of 3 seconds vs the 1 second ><. I have no clue, yes LW is a legit program, downloaded from www.limewire.com. And when yall say to delete the .limewire file and the limewire file while LW is CLOSED I am pretty sure I am doing that because the da** thing wont fully open, haha. You sugessted that maybe the betta, I am going to try that now. Any idea what is causing many people to have this problem? And please, what can I do, nothing seems to be working atm! Thanks -

Beta didnt work, seems to be the same version that I originally had, 4.10.5? I uninstalled and then downloaded from the link you sent...wth?

The fixes you've tried seem to work for some people. I haven't had the probs myself, all I can do is show you what has worked for others.

Someone else might come along & give you a different idea, sorry I couldn't fix it for ya:)

Sorry Birdy, I tried it, step by step. Still same problem...I guess LimeWire just isnt for me...Thanks for all your time and suggestions! I will continue to browse the connection section of the forums for a possible solution that might pop up. Take care, and thanks again.
