I am trying to help my uncle setup his computer to connect to MP3 Rocket. It used to work and then he reset his modem. Not sure why he reset his modem but anyway. I have enabled UPnP but the software will not connect. I have disabled his Windows Firewall but that didn't help. I have found an article on how to enable port forwarding but no luck. There has to be something that I am missing. I am confused by the two different ports on the Advanced tab. What is the difference between the two? Also this used to work until he reset his modem. I suspect that disabled UPnP but I have re-enabled it. I would appreciate any help on this issue.

2. What firewalls you have? DSL Router, Windows Firewall disabled
3. How much ram? 256MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 50GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Westell 327W
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.9.37 Pro, JAVA 1.5.0_06
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Verizon
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Page didn't load
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Modem has built-in router/hub although only computer connected
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. used to work, experienced user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes

Go to http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm & find your model in far right column & forward the port(s) that MP3 Rocket uses! ;) :)
This will most likely be your problem ... the modem/router blocking the port.
Try port 6346 for the gnutella network! :)

Help cant connect to lime wire
 
i have tryed abosolutly everything but cant connect to limewire network it just says starting connection all the time in the bottom left.

PLEASE HELP.

MP3 Rocket problems
 
I have been a subscriber to MP3 Rocket for a year or two now. But in the past 30 days, it will not let me connect. It tells me I have a firewall--but there is no firewall today that wasn't there two years ago. Nothing on my computer settings has changed. I do not have a virus or any of that stuff. I have tried opening my computer to allow pop-ups--didn't work. I have emailed MP3 Rocket to ask them what's wrong and they have not responded to me in any way.
Unless someone in this forum assures me otherwise, I am going to conclude that the MP3 Rocket site is being shut down and the plug has been pulled on the site.
