i cant make the damn thing even start

Everytime i start up limewire 1.8, the program closes on me again! i only see the main screen for a fraction of a second before it shuts itsself down. Help!

Hey Moderators!!

Could this problem be related to the new.net spyware problem that caused the same kind of shutdown?? It sounds kinda familiar!!
