Bad Connection/Or non at all? I finally got this downloaded and installed. Now I am trying to use limewire. No result come up from my queries. I only have one bar on my connection in the bottom R corner. I run win 2000. Any ideas? Brett |
There's a sticky at the top of this section (connection probs - look here before posting). Within this is a thread marked "check here first". Read through this & make sure your firewall's configured etc. Also do the port test;) |
Already did I turned my firewall off and still have no connectivity. |
Can you give us a total desciption of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 12. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? 13. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is. Please do your best to answer each question as one in particular my hold the answer to your problem! ;) |

Connection type? I have a wireless, radio ISP, Blue Wireless & Data 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Ethernet Card, not sure, cuz I am at work right now 7. Where are you trying to connect from (HOME) 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? Just downloaded I think 4.9.10, what ever the new one is and just downloaded JAVA the lastest one also yesterday. 9. Who is your isp provider Blue Wireless and Data 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? NO 11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. FIRST TRY 12. Need answers to Q's 5, 6 & 12. At the off-set, it looks like an ISP blocking situation. |
I'm also having the same problems. I was able to use limewire before but all of the sudden it tells me that I can't connect to the server. Here are my specs: Windows XP 1 gig of rams Cable Modem Isp=Optimun online Over 200 gigs of Memory I connect from y personal computer I have windows firewall and have limewire open so I know is not my firewall. this is a new problem and I'm experience users. I also like to add that I'm having the same Problem with Ares lite. Another peer to peer network. The test result come back true. I answered every question to the best of my ability. Any help could be usefull pls. Hater |
Thanks I will get the answers for you but probably not for a few days. I am a fireman and am on duty today, 24 hours. Then, I have homework I need to do for the next couple of days. I will try then to get your answers, at the very least I will be back early next week. Thanks for helping my out. Brett |

Yeah I beleive is optimun online. They were recently doing some upgrades to their service. I was without service for about 5 hours and after that, I've been unable to get Limewire. I will give them a call and find out if is them. If is so, I will switch to dsl who is much slower the cable but whatever man. |
