downloads General question here guys and girls, when i download certain avi video files(lost season 2 in particular) the download is nearly always out of sink, as in the mouths move first then the voices come after... does this mean my settings are wrong or that the file is a poor one to begin with???? if so does that mean just keep looking for a better one? am so confused.. any help would be great... |
Either the odd video out there is poorly ripped & re-encoded (yes there's some like that), or your codecs are handling the video very well, or your cpu is struggling with all the programs running at once; video playback uses a lot of cpu resources. Might I suggest a couple of things: 1. Get VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) & try it out with this program. It has in-built codecs & is generally very reliable. To see what it can do see http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html 2. See Movie download issues 3. Learn to use Bitzi to see if there's been any user feedback on that particular video file: How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ... 4. Try the video playback after rebooting, with no other programs running. |
