 Problem at Limewire-Privoxy Interface? Thanks Grandpa - sorted as advised. I'm starting to wonder whether the problem is at the Privoxy level. Specifically, with Limewire having proxy as localhost with Port 8118, and going into the Privoxy configuration file and setting debug = 2,4,16 and showing the Privoxy logfile gives: Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(00452) Connect: Denying suspicious CONNECT request from 127.0.0.1 Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(03480) Connect: Denying suspicious CONNECT request from 127.0.0.1 Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(03052) Connect: Denying suspicious CONNECT request from 127.0.0.1 Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(01608) Connect: accept connection ... Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(01632) Connect: Denying suspicious CONNECT request from 127.0.0.1 Feb 18 01:33:15 Privoxy(03068) Writing: HTTP/1.0 403 Connection not allowable X-Hint: If you read this message interactively, then you know why this happens ,-) And Limewire simply states it can't make a connection! From other posts, I'm guessing the solution is to modify the ports available in the default action file of Privoxy, viz: +limit-connect{-3, 7, 20-100, 443, 500-} \ Then I restart Privoxy and Limewire and the log shows: Feb 18 01:38:00 Privoxy(03480) Connect: OK Feb 18 01:38:00 Privoxy(03480) Connect: accept connection ... I hope this is all sensible to someone more familiar with the various Ports and Protocols of these beasts....
