another connection problem
 

I have tried the fixes listed in this forum with no results.

I was using lW 4.9 ended up with a virus which was removed by Norton. I uninstalled 4.9 and had to install 4.10. Problems are

Activating every few seconds
Occassionally connects, mainly after I select connect from the file menu.

Using Norton anti virus, switched from Nividia firewall to Windows firewall after this problem arose. I have a router and LW 4.9 is operating normally on the other computer

Tried reducing BW and other items listed in this forum. Run on system startup is not checked.

I am using Xp and AMD3500

When you say "activating every few seconds", you mean LW keeps on popping up? This is often caused by a virus. Check out point 4 here:

Thanks birdy, It was a virus problem. I had the W32.Alcra.f virus according to Norton. Anyway Limewire 4.10 now appears to be working normally.
