![]() I know this has been answered a million times, and I am sorry if I had missed any important info reguarding my situation, but this is about the only idea I have left. After I download LW and install, I am unable to connect to the network to start the program. It doesn't actually start, it gives me the error on the init. screen. I've been through the whole thing, opening ports, disabling firewalls, reinstalling, deleting the folder (while LW not running) and pretty much everything else stressed in detail here. I've come to the conclusion that its either my Router or my ISP. I simply don't see any other explanation. Router is a Linksys, and my ISP is Comcast. How would I force a port open on my router? Could it be my ISP? If so, am I screwed? Im sorry if I missed this being answered, I pretty much did everything that could have been a problem on most machines, I think in this case it comes down to specifications. |

![]() Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Did you check to ensure UPnP is enabled on your router? Linksys UPnP setting (click on link) Depending on your linksys model, it might be worth manual port forwarding it. You'll find your model here http://portforward.com/routers.htm If you have 2 software firewalls on your computer, then disable one. Having to active ones does not improve security, it has the opposite effect. And can also affect other net programs. Configure your firewall as described here Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) |
