stops working all of a sudden
 
hi everyone, ive been using limewire fine for about a month now, the other day i defragmented my pc with the windows defrag, and since then limewire keeps closing down on its own after a few minutes. no warning or close down sign comes up or anything, it just disappears. i havent adjusted anything else on my pc or connection. ive tried defragging again, using a registry fixer, and uninstalling and reinstalling limewire again, but its made no difference. any ideas please???????

heres my setup
1. OS version? - Win XP with SP2
2. What firewalls you have? - Mcafee
3. How much ram? - 500meg
4. Hard Disk space available? -30gig
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) - broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? - Netgear wireless router DG834G
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? - home
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. limewire 4.10.9 (from download.com)
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? - AOL
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. -No
11. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? - Test is ok
12. Do you use the Resume/Find Sources function on many files simultaneously? - no
13. Do you have more than 500 or more than 1,000 incomplete files? - no
14. Do you share more than 1,000 files? - no
15. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. - new problem

Maybe it's something to do with AOL (& Pestpatrol)?? Have a read through this thread

i dont seem to be running that spyware that i can see, heres the list from that program on the other post you gave me a shortcut to, any ideas with this?

Maybe you have another security program that's seeing LW as a threat??
I have no ideas but someone else might?:D
