The only reason I can see for your problem is your ISP. If you get incredibly slow speeds from magnetmix then it sounds highly suspicious.

I presume you're not sharing your bandwidth with other computers or programs. If yes, then that might be the reason. Otherwise it points to your ISP using bandwidth shaping aimed at p2p programs.
