First I once again deleted the .limewire folder, which wasn't successful, then I changed the port settings in Lime Wire option and in my Firewall, again not success. Then I uninstalled lime wire and reinstalled it, again no success. I then again deleted the preference folder and again changed to other port settings, again a big No-No... ....except, that the Firewall sign next to the connection bars disappeared, yet the connection remained at 'starting connecting (I specifically waited more then 30 min.). I also tried to disable any program which might block Lime Wire, such as the firewall and and my peer guardian. Again without success. I then closed Lime Wire completely and opened FW as well as my firewall and my peer guardian. In less then 30 sec. I got an excellent connection. So I closed that one and opened again LW, changing the port settings to the ones of FW (of course I got the message that this port was already in use of another device), so I went up one number and later, in another attempt, down one number.......nada, niente....nothing.
Looks like this is a tricky one, don't you think.....?!?
At the moment the FW is open and downloads two files at 50kb/s and uploads at 10 Kb/s, with firewall and peer guardian and spy sweeper enabled. At the same time my Boinc is crushing some datas from Seti@home.
I hope you're not in the mood to give up on this one.. ....because I ain't !!! ...... Any idea what's next to do????
Thanks for your pm. BTW you can use the same port for LW as FW. But not at the same time. But that also depends on your set up. If you're manually port forwarded then I don't think you can unless I'm mistaken (possibly.) If you already used FW in a session, you might have to reboot to use LW with the same port for it to allow you. But I'm not sure about that. It would be curious to find out if it works or not. That's interesting that the firewall icon disappears after you change the listening port. (I don't suppose your isp is filtering specifically LW.)

I'm just wondering, are you still valid for Pro updates? It might be worth updating to 4.10.9 or the beta 4.11.0

There's also the Java 1.6 beta available if you'd like to try it out. I know it works well for another member of the forums. http://java.sun.com/javase/6/download.jsp JRE "Offline" version which is 15.72 MB
