Connection Problem

Hello,
Shortly after getting back to my college campus from Spring Break, I noticed that there was a new version of Limewire. I downloaded it. But I noticed that when I log on to limewire that out of the five connection bars only the first (and the smallest) bar turns green while the other four remain red. Also, the little globe at the bottom of the screen has the brick wall in front of it. So, I went on the site and followed the directions to adjust Windows XP firewall so that it would allow Limewire and made sure that my internet would allow UPnU. I also have AVG Antivirus (free edition) on my computer but it does not have any section in it about allowing programs through. Yet, I still can not get the connection on my limewire to go higher then the first bar and the little globe still has the wall in front of it (even more then 15 minutes after I started up Limewire). I was just wondering how to fix it. I don't think that it has anything to do with my school's internet connection, because I never used to have a problem connecting to limwire before spring break. If my school had done anything to the internet connection or firewall over break, they would have told the students and they didn't say anything. Thank you

You might have to go & see your school's computer admin. Find out if they've started shaping bandwidth. Here's an example
http://www2.iwu.edu/IT/help/helpdesk/shaper.shtml

Read through the sticky about connection problems, the first part "... check here first" & just make sure you've got your firewall configured ok. Your AVGfree won't be a problem:)

Maybe, find out if other people at school have got LW connecting & if so, what they've done to get it working:)

Thanks, I will talk to my school's computer adm. Also, I tried everything on that I could on that first sticky and still the same problem before I posted. Most people at my school use Itunes. Thanks for responding.
