Hi. I am no expert in this stuff, but maybe you try this. Go to the File option (located in the upper left corner) and click it . In the options menu that opens click CONNECT, maybe that will improve your connection. It's worked for me before. Well that helps if it doesn't... good luck. Don't worry someone in this forum will help you.

Ok guys and gals i found it well my problem was with my firewall(ZoneAlarm) everyone was looking at limewire and see if it was under strict watch under firewall. What was under strict watch was my P2P network u must have it under super then all is good any question feel free to contact me :D

LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Do this port test & see what result you get

Do you see the LW firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue earth)?
Within LW, go tools > options > bug reports > view example. Scroll down to 'recieved incoming this session'. Is it true or false?

well that might have to be it idk but I have been doing fine with lime wire but then this one bar thing showd up :( I cant seem to get it back to work I tryd uninstaling it and puting it back then tryd the connection thing and on my comp I'm not sure what to do... Im using it on a mac btw

I did the test and is ok. I dont have any firewall enable and I still have the problem only one bar and a firewall detected above

Connection type (DSL etc)

Is your Internet Service Provider Optimum Online by any chance? If yes then most people with that same isp are having problems. Use the search button & type in optimum or online.
