need a solution
 
hi, i have a problem with all my p2p programs they take ages to connect and when they do connect and i begin 2 download it takes hours?

i have downlaoded de patchs to change the half open connections ect and i have done spyware scans and speedtests.

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?
12. Choose nearest location for a speed test & only have your browser open: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/
13. Choose a magnet link from here & describe what happens such as speed: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

3. How much ram? 512
4. Hard Disk space available? 40gb hard drive
5. Connection type? broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? speedtouch modem
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? home
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have?4.9.37 pro, 1.5.0_03
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?talk talk
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? yes, p2p programs ares and lime wire
11. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?
12. Choose nearest location for a speed test & only have your browser open:

TalkTalk is your problem! I believe (unless I'm mistaken) if you use the service over certain hours you won't suffer this problem. Search talktalk on the forum using the search button above.

You will see them mentioned here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire. See the last link in the mention about TalkTalk!!!
