search not working

I am a new limewire user who was able to search for one day after installation 10 days ago. Nothing else has changed , except now when i search, i get no results. I am running windows XP via cable modem and I have lots of memory. When I enter the topic and press "search", nothing happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem, i was wondering if it was due to connection problem. My connection tab on the left end corner only has the smallest tab green the rest is red, is yours too.

search not working

my bars in the left hand corner are all green and "excellent' connection, but i cannot search since the first day or two that i joined. I expect a little more for $34.95. Limewire must be insane if they think we'll upgrade to pro if they can't even give us some basic customer service for their entry level product!!!!

You have been scammed. LimeWire cost $18.88 for pro and 6 months of free upgrades. There are no other prices or packages. LimeWire basic is free. You can get both at the link below. The second link is some reading you might find interesting about known scam sites.

All of you we will need a little more info. It sound like you are behind a firewall please provide the information ask for below.

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (Eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (Eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP provider? ( AOL/MSN/Comcast/Tiscal)
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

* Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

12. Do This test, Is the result True/False?
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...757#post103757 Is the result True/False

13. Do a speed test post the results here.

Did you see the UK isp link in the 1st post here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire

Can you give us more information about your set up. Have you seen this Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) Your problem might be isp related, it might be software firewall related, it might be modem/router NAT firewall related or a combination. So check these links out to be sure.

If you see a brick wall in front of the blue firewall globe icon at the bottom of LW interface then you can be reasonably sure the 1st place to look for an answer is your firewall be it your software firewall or modem/router (or both.) ;)
