Default Can you help me out, too?

I'm sure this problem has been answered a million times by now...

I just bought a new notebook with Windows XP. I installed Limewire. I did that tweak that's supposed to be done to my network. But I have this Norton Protection Program that has a personal firewall set up, and the program does not let me configure it because I have not subscribed for the full service.

Is there anything else I can do to get Limewire to work on my new notebook?

If I deleted this Norton Security program, would Limewire finally connect.

Guess, you don't have to kill the cow to get to the milk; how about disabling it for a starter? Then you will see what happens. By the way, XP comes with a built-in firewall. So you would have to configurate (or disable) this one as well.

You could start at the link above and work yourself through the suggestions and if it doesn't help then get back here and post your results

I don't mean to be lazy and not read through those other posts. But can you show me how to disable the firewalls?

You may not mean to be but you are. Go to Control Panel/Windows Firewall.

You can't use Norton's firewall with XP firewall. Disable the XP & configure the Norton
Firewall setup

I'm sure you can do that much

Edit - not trying to post behind you Grandpa... we both posted at the same time!
