Ok what they are saying in the thread that your ISP, talk talk shapes your ability to download from limewire between the hours of 9am to 1am, so in other words you will get really slow speeds between these hours...

With the modem I think there is a built in firewall, but it is not on the list I gave you....I will ask another member about the modem you have and I will get back to you...;)

omg you are right, cos i remember now that it works in teh nite late. you hgave found the problem, yey!!! tis there anyway i can get around this, tell talk talk to fuk off or sumthing?

wondering why May 24th, 2006 05:09 AM

Lol you could try...:D
I still think the router has a firewall within it because of the wall in front of the globe...I've put the question out there to some of the other members, I'm just waiting a reply...

wondering why May 24th, 2006 05:30 AM

Ok I've been told that there probably isn't much difference between the model you have and the one in the list...
I will give you a link to Port Forward this should fix your firewall issue
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...A/Limewire.htm

follow the steps the best you can, let us know how you go or if you run into any trouble...;)

Have another look at the web page of your Edimax & look around the different sections. See if you can find an option for UPnP or Universal Plug & Play. If you can see such an option, make sure it's turned on. I just looked at the above link & your device does have UPnP. Click on advanced & you will see UPnP at the top of the list. Click on it. This is the alternative to forwarding a port. Make sure it's set to UPnP & is enabled. Have a look at the link Wondering Why gave you to see where Advanced & UPnP is.
Then open LW & go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & tick UPnP. Save settings.

For this to work, you'll need to restart LW.
You might need to reboot your router also. Make sure you saved the settings in your Edimax.

By the way, setting your device up for UPnP is Much Much easier than port forwarding. It's not confusing I promise. Just look at the images in that link to see where everything is. ;)
