If you don't find an answer, post back with your details

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Does the connection drop off when you're downloading or just all the time? How many files are you trying to download at once? Have you tried just downloading a single file at a time (not a huge one)? Do you lose internet connection too, or just connection to LW? How long does it take for the connection to die off from turbo?

Even if you were a freeloader, other people wouldn't be able to drop your LW connection! Tools > options > speed, tick 'disable ultrapeer capabilities' & apply.

Read through this & just make sure your firewall's configured properly
Connection problems? Check here first!

It would really help if you can find out the brand & model of your modem/router. Just in case it's a problem with your hardware.

Is that your computer's internal modem? Do you have an external one? I might have to ask around about this one.

Did anythng change before you started having trouble (any upgrades, any new hardware etc)??

josh-dunbar00 May 27th, 2006 11:52 PM

Internal
Just when I upgraded to pro

Just have a read through this thread (thanks 6_pac!) & make sure your LW's configured for your dial up connection. So you don't have an external modem?

The test finished
23 kbps download speed
374 kbps download speed
everything confiqured right
when i disabled the ultrapeer thing i stayed at turbo charged connection
what about the enabling open information Sharing message

birdy May 28th, 2006 12:12 AM

Just see if it stays turbo. Give it a good half hour before you try to download anything.

Don't worry too much about the enabling message for now! That's just cosmetic. See if you can run LW without your connection dropping off:)
