1. OS version? Windows XP service pack 2
2. What firewalls you have?windows firewall
3. How much ram?192mb
4. Hard Disk space available?23.52 GB
5. Connection type? dial up....AOL 8.0
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?not sure
7. Where are you trying to connect from home
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.10.9
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?AOL 8.0
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.No been a member for a while problem just started all of a sudden

Okay, follow the link here and check on the first link in this thread and also the sixth link.
Do as advised there, especially in regard to configurating your firewall. Also consider changing the listening port to a higher range, lets say 64049 or 47058.
LW sometimes need quite some time to adapt the changes (i.e. until the brickwall disappears in front of the small globe in the bottom left corner) Can be anything from2 -60 minutes.
So be patient...
