firewall with siemens speedstream 4200
 

i read all the posts on connection problems, tried everthing from port forwarding to turning off firewalls, still can't connect, please help

2. firewalls - norton internet security,router firewall
3 ram - 256mb
4. Hard Disk space - 75gig
5. Connection type - adsl
6. Modem & router - siemens speedstream 4200 router
7. trying to connect from home
8. latest versions of limewire and java
9. isp provider - tstt - trinidad & tobago
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? - np
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. - 1st

i've tried that already when i set up my static address internet pages cannot load

What pages will not load?

Do you mean trying to log into your connection device? http://10.0.0.138

You need to set up a static ip 1st if you do manual port forwarding. That's the most important step to do this correctly, otherwise the process won't work.

sorry i needed to restart my browser after setting up a static address. did port forwarding limewire still not connecting

1. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

2. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? (sample attachment image below)

3. Did you set the manual port forward settings also for LW? Manual port forward instructions & sample image

4. Try clicking on a magnet link downld link from here http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

the limewire link does not load and limewire can,t connect when from the magnet link download link. there is a firewall detection (norton internet security is turned off and routers firewall set to low, i've also tried turning them both off and one on at a time0

It sounds to me like you mucked up the port forwarding somewhere. I'd recommend you go back into the browser page for your modem & delete that forward setting. Then start from scratch. i have deleted all forward setting. set up static ip first trying to set new forward settings and getting message "NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address."

i give up this is stressing me out

Try another address ... eg: 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.3
Your device might not have completely eliminated the previous address due to not updating properly.
