I keep losing connections

This has been going on for a week off and on... I know it's nothing to do with my ISP. Today I've been downloading music with no problem, and then... all the connections (the ultrapeers) drop. My green bars turn red and I get a message to say that I have no connection. Yet seconds earlier, everything was working fine.

Could it be an ISP problem? I never had this problem with my previous version of LW. I'm on 4.12.3. I can never stay connected to any one ultrapeer for more than 10 minutes... then they all go and I just get a load of ultrapeers connecting, and they just don't manage it...

To add: I have no firewall blocking access. It's puzzling.

What type of connection do you have?

Sometimes if you use Resume/Find Sources on all your files, that can have the side-effect of affecting LW's connection. I normally recommend only applying it to a few at a time.

So you don't see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?

I don't have the brick wall at all. My connection is just the ordinary connection to 3 ultrapeers.

When it all starts going crazy, I look at the connections and the ultrapeers I was cinnected to have gone and LW is trying to connect me to others, but it is no good, I never get connected. Then it all calms down and I stay connected for a few minutes more, and then it starts again...

I have one ultrapeer who has been connected for 35 minutes, which is quite good! Usually, that is not how it is...

I must point out, I never had this problem with my previous version of LW... that was 4.12.1. Unfortunately, I don't have that version anymore.

This may or may not help, but try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

I'm still having the same problems, depsite deleting my LW preferences folder. I can't stay connected to any single ultrapeer for more than a few minutes.

I'm also now getting the "brick wall" firewall icon, even though I've opened the port in my router.

This is getting puzzling!

Is there anywhere I can get the old LW version from? The problem only started when I downloaded the upgrade. Unfortunately, I don't have a backup copy of the old version.

I seem to have it working again now. I've had to delete the rule I added in my router and then add it once more... it seems to have reopened the port.

Modern technology, I'll get the hang of it one day...

It's doing it again!

There's obviously a problem somewhere. I've disabled ultrapeer connection status, as I noticed every time LW was trying to connect me as an ultrapeer I ended up having connection problems. But I still can't connect properly. I did manage 40 minutes earlier today, but now it's the same problem again...
