Smile (Resolved!!) Portforwarding not work ? (SMC7204BRA)

I have tried to get my router to portforward limewire for months now (unsuccesfully) And was wondering if anyone might have managed to do this succesfully.

I have followed all instructions from www.portforward.com several times + trying to change some of the settings.

I have a static IP 192.168.*.*, which is not the same as the one I see when trying whatsmyipaddress 217.*.*.*. Should I maybe change to that one ??

When adding NAT rule. I followed these instructions from the site:

http://www.portforward.com/english/r...A/Limewire.htm

I Choose RDR
1
all
any

Local Address from 192.*.*.*
Local Address to 192.*.*.*

Global IP from ???
Global IP to ???

I have tried the DNS-IP addresses provided by my ISP (the brick wall is still in Limewire and in bugreport "recieved incoming this session" is false)
I tried the IP I get from whatsmyipaddress (I loose all internet connection ??)

Destination port from: 42649 (the listening port in Limewire)
Destination port to : 42649
Local port : 42649

I just can't get that **** wall to disappear

I also tried disabling all firewalls/antivirus (everything I could think of) still nothing

If anyone has an idea what I might be doing wrong, even just a guess then please post here or PM me

Your external ip sounds right. What I would suggest however, is instead of choosing "All", instead, do a separate port forward for each of UDP & TCP. Also, perhaps changing the port to a high no. between 49152 - 65535; eg: 64049

BTW have you checked to see if there's firmware updates for your device?

Firmware updates "might" add UPnP abilities or improve upon it. But perhaps your model never had this option added to it. Also updates will "generally" improve overall reliability & performance. Though it might be worth checking to see if there's reports about them 1st.

Still no luck

I upgraded the firmware to the latest version v.1.05 and while I must say I notice improvement (not so much in Limewire) the wall is still up. Did figure out though that I had forgot to set up the DNS-servers in the initial setup when I first got the router. IE is working at twice the speed now so at least something good came out of it

I tried adding one TCP and one UDP rule instead of using "All". Also changed the portnumber to 64049

Just to clarify my situation. I have no problem getting connected. Uploads and Downloads are working OK but not perfect. Even when using the manual post setting and not UPnP.

It's just with that wall up I can not Direct Connect or run as an UltraPeer. I have 2336/576 Kbps connection so it's a shame having to connect to UP's that only are running on Cable/Dsl speed.

If you or anyone have anymore suggestions not involving a sledgehammer it would be greatly appriciated

It's gone I can see the world now. No brickwall blocking it Recieved incoming this session : True

Seems the Panda Firewall was the problem (has a mind of it's own)
