My port isn't and hasn't appeared to be 6346 at any point. It always has 5 digits. Should I change it to 6346 and see if that works?

If it's still downlding then leave it for the time being. Next time, if it has the same problem then yes, try changing the port.
Who knows, perhaps a different day it will be different with any luck. I'm surprised you're still able to downld though.

It's now just saying that I don't appear to have an active Internet connection. That could be the problem. I'm on Internet Explorer, though. What should I do to make sure it is connected to the internet? It's allowed on my Firewall. Anything else I should do?

The firewall issue is probably the issue for connecting. Do you have it set to UPnP for connecting in the firewall settings? Play around with it until it behaves.

Yes, it's set for UPnP.

And I've been meddling with it for a while, but to no avail. :(

can any one tell me why i cannot connect to gnutella 1 it is on auto connect in my settings but shows up as disconnected any one any suggestions
