Unable to connect.

I am running Limewire 4.10.3 on Windows XP Home edition with 768 Mb Ram.
It worked fine untill a few days ago, when it refused to connect.
After opening some ports in the Advanced section of my Windows Firewall, it worked, but only for a short while. It soon reverted back to just one green block, and four red blocks in the bottom left corner.
I tried going to that website which said "Your test worked" Or whatever it says, and it worked for me.
I don't think I've changed anything which would affect it.

OS: Windows XP
LW & Java version: LW - 4.10.3 Java - 1.5.0_06
Firewall you're using: Windows Firewall
Modem/router brand & model: Belkin, not sure about model.
ISP: BT
Connection type: ADSL
Where you connect from: Home
Are you sharing a connection with other computers: Yes, I am the host on a LAN
Is this your first try with LW: No.

Just updated to 4.12.3
Before I did, my Limewire had been working, but as I ran the installer for 12.3, the installer froze after a few seconds, and LW stopped working. so I downloaded Limewire from the Second option on the site, and installed it.

For some reason, I disabled Connect on startup, but as I started LW, the files I was downloading started to download.
When I connect, the five bars all lit up green, and there is still a wall of bricks beside the globe.
Hopefully, this works for a long time, and not a few minutes like the rest of the time.

well, mine started working today finally. I didn't do anything to it, so I have no idea what the problem was, but w/e.

Anyone have any ideas? I haven't been able to connect to Limewire since then.

If you're sure you're not running more than 1 software firewall, & you've configured the Windows firewall properly
Firewall setup
then you might have to look at an internal firewall within your router. Have a look through the thread below, it has lots of info about connection problems.
Connection problems? Check here first!

If your router supports UPnP, try enabling it & then choose the 'use UPnP' option within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. If using UPnP doesn't help then try manually port forwarding. Find your router at this site & follow the directions (don't forget to set up a static IP first, if you're prompted to)

See how that all goes:)

...
:D
Thank you very much, I had already tried the things listed in the first and second post, but the third post helped me.
Limewire is currently working, I just hope it stays working this time.
If it does stop working, I'll post back here.
Again, thank you very much for your help.
