![]() Oklay, Ive been getting this pop up that says "one or more files may be corrupted.." yadda yadda. It said to copy the message and send it to "bugs@limewire.com" The problem is, that email doesnt exist. Ive tried completely un-installin limewire and reinstalling it. Ive tried the whole firewall methods. NOTHING!!! I only get one green bar and anytime I try to search, it says limewire is not connected. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Thr first thing to try would be to delete the Limewire preference folder as explained here (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 If that doesn't do the trick, you should get back here and give us some specs. about your system: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 12. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? ![]()

Did those.and found out that my firewall settings were strict. I followed the directions on the site under "connection" problems as i have in the past. this time it worked!!!! Im connected. Dont know what i did differently, but it worked. thanks for the help though. |

![]() Now this computer is trippin'. I had a goo connection for about 2 hours and then it went right back to where its been for the past few weeks. One green bar, no connection. Here is what I know about my computer: 1. Windows XP 2. Under my control option, it just says "windows firewall" 3. ? 4. ? 5. Cable 6. Modem: Terayon Model: TJ716 7. trying to connect from home 8. LW: 4.12.3 Java: 1.5.0_6 9. ISP provider: Ygnition Cable (Im in TX) 10. No 11. Well, its not my first time usin lw, but its the first time ive had problems. |

![]() Just to add a little bit here... another Ygnition user was having trouble recently & so I found this http://www.dslreports.com/comments/2599 It's fairly recent & if you read down the thread a bit, suggests that Ygnition are traffic shaping. If they only apply this at certain times of day (some ISPs do), it would explain why you had a good connection for a while & then back to nothing ![]() |

![]() Okay, sorry about all the questons. I tried switching listening ports and did the whole thing where you type in 127.0.0.1 as the isp. But when I hjit okay, a message pops up saying "to enable internet connection sharing a connection must be selected for the private network. Please select a connection from the list of available connections." I hit okay, and nothing. What list of available connections are they talking about?? ![]() ![]() |
