Can't Keep a connection
 

:confused: I am new to all of this, so please forgive me if i don't use the right lingo. I have spent the last 2 hours reading this sight and trying things, but nothing has helped. I am using windows XP. I have configured my firewall per the instructions i found in this Forum. I am using Avast virus. I turned off spy sweeper. I can not keep a connection when limewire in running. when it is off i have no problems. I have a dsl modem it has a wireless connection but i am not using it. i am connected with a cat5 cable. My laptop uses the wireless and it even cant connect when limewire is running on my desk top. It is very frusterating. I have a file i have been trying to down load for three days, it is a big file, It will be going at 50kb and then just stop. itg will pop up and say i dont have a internet connection. then it goes away and connects and then it all starts over again.

Is there any one out there that can help me? Please!! I AM GOING INSANE.

i forgot to mention that with everything i have tried, turning off my firewall and anti-virus stuff there is always still a wall showing in front of the globe. i recently uninstalled norton, but i keep finding pieces of it all through my computer. could this be the problem?
