I don't know what I did since I am trying a lot of different things but I appear to have made a little progress. I just did an audio search for XXXXXX and got five files with a four star rating, thanx to these forums and everyone's feedback.

Still not downloading sadly, the progress bar won't pass 0% so I am not out of the woods yet.

Have you tried disabling the firewall to make sure that is the problem. Also are you by any chance running the Windows firewall as well ?

Also try adding limewire.exe as an exeption in the firewall options

Let's concentrate on the connection first, then the downloads

Did Limewire by any chance get any more green bars when you turned the windows firewall off ?

I must not ben doing it right. This is what I am supposed to do in Adding/Editing Personal Firewall Exception:

Description: I just type in LimeWire

Target: there are three buttons: 1. All applications 2. Operating system components 3. Specified application

Connection: two buttons 1. Incoming 2. Outgoing

Action: 1. Allow 2. Deny 3. Warn

Protocol: TCP or UDP or both

Port(s): All Ports or Specified Port(s)

IP Setting Type: 1. All IP addresses 2. IP address 3. IP address range 4. Subnet mask 5. Broadcast 6. Multicast
