Default nothing is working!!!! HELP!!!!

ok, my limewire wont work.... i uninstalled it twice, and reinstalled it... and it installs fine but then as its opening up, it stops at "loading magnet listener." What the hell does that mean??? I am getting really frustrated because i have tried changing my personal firewall in the Norton firewall, but limewire isnt even on the list... when i went to scan the computer in the options, it still wasnt on the list and when i try to add it my screen freezes!!!! THEN, i tried allowing the Gnutella on other options and such... and nothing is working it just simply stays on the "loading magnet listener" until i try to shut it down. Even in the file column, i try to press connect and nothing happens.

PLEASE HELP!!!!! I dont know if i am just missing something completely or what, but this is my frist time using limewire... OH and i had to use the offline download because the recommended one wouldnt work.

That you have used, accidentally, the offline installer was a wise decision. You should always use the offline installer of any program, if possible.
I assume you've also used the online installer of Java, or even not updated Java before installing LW.
My adivce: Go and get the JRE offline installer from the newest Java version:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
The uninstall all Java, and LW and reboot. The install Java and reboot again. Finally, install LW.
It could be possible that you have to uninstall your Norton before (though you can try first without uninstalling Norton). As I have read somewhere, Norton sometimes behaves strang with programs installed after the Norton installation.
