Been fighting withis for two weeks Ok I recently upgraded to 4.12.6 from 4.10. something. anyways I used to get download speeds of 200+kb/s now I only get around 5-25 kb/s:mad: . I am using a linksys wirles g router(I use the lan conection My roomie uses wireless) My internet provider is clearwire wireless. ok so I tried port forwarding came up with the same download speeds as upnp so thats not the problem. the limewire says I have a firewall so im not sure there because the router is set to detect upnp and either way it shows the firewall logo. so let me tell you a little about my system I am running a dfi infinity n4 ultra motherboard, amd 64 3500+ processor, 1g ram(2x512), and a 250g hard drive:) . lotsa others but dont really pertain to the problem. i am posting the bug report as I saw in another thread so if you have any advise please let'r rip. If you configured your Windows firewall then it's the router that's not configured correctly. In your bugreport it says that you have not recieved incoming this session (meaning that you are still firewalled somehow) Go to www.portforward.com and go over the steps of portforwarding for your router You might have missed a step or made a typing error while setting up portforwarding |

If you are going to portforward then the forced port and listening port In Limewire (Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall config) have to be the same number and you have to forward that exact same port in your router. It's not going to work any other way. Also you need a static IP All these things are in the instructions on www.portforward.com Also what is the make and model of your router ? Oh and BTW there is no reason to filter the 192.168.*.* and 10.*.*:* IP's. Limewire can in most cases download from them now |
thanks on the info about the filters. I got that out of the faq's that were listed for new users and I had no idea that it was old info. My router is a linksys wrt54gsv5. my static ip is set in the router. if there is a place in limewire to set the static I cant locate it and if you could provide the path I would really appreciate it. Your static IP has to be set on Windows also. thank you again. I tried that first link and did what it said but could not get any kind of connection afterwords. had to set back to auto detect. could my norton antivirus be giving limewire the impression that there is a firewall? |
hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! in my pure late night exhaustion I must not have been paying close enough attn. I was supposed to forward port #31319 but instead I forwarded #31391 lol thank you sleepless again I now have an open globe and everything is all good! |
