What's with the spamming of the forums? Huh!!!? 6 postings into unrelated threads. Your answer is in a sticky at the top of this section. Also don't forget to see Forum Rules (click here) |
soorry so sorry! i am an impatient person.... anyways, the answer to my question is not found in the stickies (i checked) , maybe im not looking in the right place? |
It means a firewall of some description is blocking. This might be your software firewall or an internal NAT firewall in you modem/router. That's why I suggested you check the information in both posts here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link). If you have a software firewall (XP has its own firewall) then make sure you only have one running. And then configure it to allow LW full access. For your modem/router, enable UPnP on it. If it doesn't support UPnP then you may need to forward a port. :) |
thx. but i have XP. and i don't know where to check if i have a firewall running. where do i check? |
Control panels. It sounds like you never configured your XP firewall. Also list the information listed to the questions in post 2 of that link. Otherwise I have no idea what type of set up you have other than XP. |
thnx. |
oops... i turned limewire on as an exception, but it still keeps giving that stupid error message. i have a feeling that the problem is not with security. Do you know what it could be? |
Security! If not your software firewall then your modem/router. If not those things then it must be your ISP. End of story. |
my what? |
