Private Proxy Problem.

Hi! I currently use a private proxy sever which I pay for monthly. My problem is that Limewire does not support HTTP proxy passwords. Is there any way around this?:bangh:

Have a look at these & see if they're of any help: (a) http proxies, (b) A Successful http Proxy Solution, (c) HTTP proxy blocks P2P

Thanks for the prompt response:) I don't think I explained my problem very well, so here goes. I live in South Africa, so my ADSL service really sux! I get international download that is capped after 2Gb, after that, my international download speed is cut to 56k:yikes: . I am thereafter left with 28Gb local (South African severs only) download at normal ADSL speed for the rest of the month, therefore, I subdcribe to a locol private proxy service which forwards all my international HTTP requests for me and my ISP sees it as local. So it's not that I can't connect to LW, I can, but it's slow unless I can sent it via my proxy service. One of the things that suck about living in the 3rd world I guess:imwaiting:

Can you communicate with this local private proxy service? Ask them if they can do the same for all traffic through port 6346 (which LW uses by default) or a very high port number. I'm not sure how the system works but it may be possible.

I'm pretty sure that my private proxy service does not block any ports, it's just that I can set my proxy settings in my LW settings, but what do I do about proxy password if LW does not support HTTP proxy passwords?
