Can't connect anymore...

I upgraded to 4.12.6 Basic Friday and downloaded a song fine. Now I can't connect. I did all the things that the site says to do - added Gnutella, etc. and still can't connect. There is a brick wall in front of the world icon.

1. OS version: WinXP Home Edition
2. What firewalls you have: windows firewall - have some security on through Internet Explorer
3. How much ram: 512 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 150 GB on C & on G drives
5. Connection type: DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers: Westell VersaLink 327W
7. Where are you trying to connect from: my home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have: LW 4.12.6 and java Version 1.5.0
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? BellSouth
10. Go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!': Yes
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Home network thru BellSouth for other computers in my home - password protected
12. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user: I upgraded to 4.12.6 Basic Friday and downloaded a song fine. Used previous LM just fine.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface: Yes

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Debbie

Your Modem/Router has probably got a built in Nat firewall...
Try setting the UPnP and if that doesn't work try Port Forwarding, the steps on how to do this are in this thread...:rolleyes_2:

But....

But it was ok on Friday - why would it be a problem now?

I actually have a friend that has firewall that comes and goes lol....
I was reading in a thread that if this happens it could be because of to many incomplete files backed up...Do you have alot of incomplete's ?? :rolleyes_2:

Ok, so now I'm going to look like a 'stupid woman' ;-) but how do I find out if I have alot of incompleted backup files?

This was the thread I was refering to, even though it was for a Mac problem it could still apply to you...

In your limewire library there is a folder for incomplete files, take a look at that and see how long the list is....:rolleyes_2:

Nope - none at all

Well I reckon you should give Port Forwarding ago...
This is the instructions for your Modem/Router....
http://portforward.com/english/route...W/Limewire.htm
That link is for Westell VersaLink-327W

And this one is for Westell VersaLink 327W, I wasn't sure which one you had

http://portforward.com/english/route...W/Limewire.htm

You will know which one is yours as soon as you log into your Modem....

BTW, I think it's the first one because it's for a Bellsouth Modem....
