Mandy, you've gotten further than I have. I've used both online and offline installation, and I can get to step 6, where it shows me that ZoneAlarm may ask for access for LimeWire. The only option I have at that setup screen is to close it. I'm pretty disgusted too!

If you're using windows XP & ZoneAlarm, then make sure XP firewall is disabled. Also give LW some time to connect. Also try closing & re-opening after a time.

wannabet: configure your ZoneAlarm firewall to allow LimeWire; Firewall configuration instructions (click on link). Then try again with opening LW.

I also get to the step where Zone Alarm may ask for access. You have no option but to close and then when you try to open LimeWire - you get to the same step and no further. Does anyone have a solution? I have downloaded Limewire from 3 different spots with the same results.

thanks lord of the rings

yes, the windows firewall is turned off

unfortunatley, I don't get past trying to open LW. I get a message that

"LW was unable to intialize and start. this is usually due to a firewall..."
