Unhappy Limewire crash on startup..help!

My Limewire allways crashes at startup. When i double click on the shortcut the little window showing a lime an the name pops up(as usual) but then nothing happens... normally the little grey line at the bottom starts loading html. engine an so on and so forth, but after i downloaded the last version it just stands there doing nothinh. If I ctrl+alt+delete it doesent show in programs and in process it's limewire.exe which is impossible by some reason to terminate, shut down. If I have double clicked on the shortcut many times, the equal nr, shows in process as running limewires and are equally impossible til shut down...
HELP!

Sounds like a Java issue. Uninstall LW and all Java versions on your system. Reboot and then download the JRE offline installer of the newest Java version from here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
Install it and reboot again, then reinstall LW.

Two other things I could think of causing this would be either a Security Program preventing LW from starting up, or a corrupted preference folder. Check all Security Programs on your system whether LW is added as exception. If you run Norton Security, delete all reference to LW in that program and then restart the program so that you have to newly allow LW.

As for the preference folder, read on how to delete it here in Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire
