What's going on with my searches? Alright, I checked around on the other posts and didn't see anything like my problem so here it is. Whenever I search for a song or video or something, nothing comes up. Or if something does come up it's like 15 results or so. Even on things I know there are tons of. It has only started doing this in the last few weeks, and has worked perfectly well on the same computer for the past several years. I'm also in a dorm, and my roomie who lives in the bedroom next to me, has no problems with his. I've tryed reinstalling, changing firewall settings....I just can't seem to whip this one. Hope somebody can help |
Is your connection ok? How many green bars do you see? You said you'd used LW before without a problem but have you used it a dorm before successfully? Lots of schools & student accommodation are anti-p2p. Do you see the firewall icon? You could try deleting the preferences folder while LW's closed (points 2 & 3 below) Fixes for LimeWire If that doesn't help, check your roomie's LW settings & make sure yours are the same. |
I'm having the exact same problem. It seems to have just started out of the blue. I'm a college student, too, and have verified that someone (although not in the same dorm as me) is not having any problems at all. I really have no idea what the heck is going on here, but it's highly annoying. Edit: Some additional information... the strength of the connection and whether or not I'm firewalled seem very sporadic. Sometimes I'll be at full connection strength and the next I'll be at zero. Also, I remember that I changed Java around sometime last week to work on a programming project. I'm now using Java version 1.5.0_06. |
