Default Cannot Connect At All

I just installed LW for the first time and and as soon as it started up it said "unable to set up a port for listening, blah, blah, blah....."

Here are my answers to the standard questions as I have played with Firewall settings to no avail. I have set Bitdefender to accept Limewire both directions on any port for TCP and UDP. Thanks.

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
Windows XP SP2
2. What firewalls you have?
Windows XP and Bitdefender
3. How much ram?
1GB
4. Hard Disk space available?
150GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
Webstar DPC2100
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
LW 4.12.6 java 1.5.0_06
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?
Rogers (Canada)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
It says "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
There is no sharing.
12. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
1st try
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface?
yes

Excuse my ignorance but I thought bitdefender was a spyware utility. If it's a firewall, then it's probably best to disable XP firewall. 2 firewalls running together will potentially cause problems with conflicting.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then forwarding a port might be the only solution. See instructions here http://www.portforward.com/english/r...0/Limewire.htm which are instructions for the WebSTAR-DPR2320 but should be similar if not identical.

BTW Rogers ISP is known to be p2p bandwidth shaping: ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire

This is weird but I un-installed it. Then I downloaded an older version 4.10.x but had the same problem. Uninstalled it then downloaded 4.10.0 and again it had the same problem. Went back and re-installed the newest version. Bitdefender automatically asked to make a rule for it (it didn't do that before). Made the rule and now LW works no problem. Very strange!!!
