Need help on limewire connection!!

I need help on limewire connection! If I tried to search something it has a message that says, " LimeWire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network" and also an error that says, " Your machine dows not appear to have an active Internet connection or a firewall is blocking LimeWire from accessing the internet. LimeWire will automatically keep trying to connect you to the network unless select "Disconnect" from the File menu". It's really confusing because my internet is working well, I already went to the Windows Firewall in the Control Panel and I have already checked limewire as an exception. Lastly, I checked the File menu but it was connected. Please help me!!!
